Discover the Veluwe
Voorthuizen is the gateway to the Veluwe region. Along with several other villages in the municipality of Barneveld, such as Stroe, Kootwijk, and Garderen, it has a wealth of beauty to offer.
Kootwijkerzand
The largest drifting sand area in Northwest Europe, our own desert with unique flora and fauna. Cycle to the observation tower and enjoy the panoramic view.
Radio Kootwijk
The old radio building used to maintain contact with family in Indonesia after World War II. Seen from the side, the "Sphinx" rises in the middle of the heathland between Kootwijk and Apeldoorn.
Speulder and Sprielderbos
A large contiguous forest area with dancing trees, situated on a moraine from the penultimate ice age, with burial mounds of >4000 years old
Staverden Estate
The smallest city in the Netherlands, with its country house and beautiful park, home to a brasserie. Historic farms and beautiful forests where you can regularly spot wildlife.
This is just a selection of what the area has to offer, including De Ermelose Hei, Halte Assel, the Kootwijker Veen and the Wilbrink Bos.
Our cycling navigation system includes all these places as waypoints, making them easy to find. This navigation system is available as an optional extra.
There are only a few systems available so book in advance to avoid disappointment
